Hello! I am so happy to be here. I have a language arts background, and I love helping people use language skills effectively. We use language every day, it fills our world around us, and being able to communicate our ideas with others is rewarding in so many ways. Not surprising, I like to read and to write. In order to be a better writer, I try to continually learn about lots of different subjects. I also love art. You might even find me drawing pictures to help our students, especially with math concepts. When I have free time, I garden, enjoy music, and explore Utah with my family and my dogs.

I grew up in North Carolina and now live in Utah County. I have bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business and have worked in the local high-tech industry. Recently I completed a secondary teaching degree in Mathematics Education. I have always loved learning and trying new things. The Alpine Adult Education team is an incredible group of individuals and I’m thrilled to be a part of it! I love helping people take a step toward accomplishing their dreams!

Hi there! I’m Jen and happy to help whenever you come in to see us! First of all, pat yourself on the back for even wanting to get your GED or diploma! That’s the first big hurdle to get over. Be PROUD! You have great things coming! I’ve loved being in the Alpine School District and in education, helping students to achieve their dreams! Some of my favorite things about life are: outdoors, sunny places and water to play in, skiing, sledding, hiking, rollerblading, rock climbing, biking, yard-saling, hammocking (did you know that was a “thing”?), dancing, and laughing out loud with friends and fam til my cheeks literally hurt! Come in and let us get to know you!

I was raised in a small farming community in eastern Iowa. I grew up hunting, fishing and trapping the local wildlife. I came to Utah to attend Brigham Young University in 1992. I graduated from BYU in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in History. I earned an MBA from The University of Phoenix in 2003, and in 2009, I earned another University of Phoenix master’s degree in Education. Shortly thereafter, I applied for a job at what was then Mountain Land Regional Learning Center where I began working as a licensed teacher. Here at Alpine Adult Ed, we are eager to help you earn your GED or adult high school diploma.

Hello, my name is Jene Parker. I have been at Alpine Adult Education for 14 years and there is nowhere else I’d rather be.  I love working with Adult students and helping them reach their goals of achieving their high school diploma or GED. I love cool facts about random places to visit and I’ve been told (by my family) that I like to talk. Which may actually be true, because one of my favorite things about working here, is getting to know you.

This marks my 31st year of teaching and my 20th year with the Alpine School District. I absolutely love my job! I started out in Elementary Ed and then decided I wanted to help the struggling students so I pursued two degrees in Special Education. It is rewarding to see the light bulb go on in a struggling student’s head! It is wonderful to meet and work with students who decide they want to improve their lives! All students can learn and Adult Education is here to help students reach their goals!

I love working with students and seeing the light in their eyes as they really come to understand concepts that may have alluded them before.  For me, with math especially, getting certain concepts was a challenge that took extra work.  I had to really understand something to be able to do it, I couldn’t just perform a procedure and not know what was going on. So with this extra effort to understand things in a more basic way–I think I am able to help many students in a similar situation learn more quickly.

Some things I enjoy: Playing guitar, hiking-exploring wild places, fly-fishing and camping.
